1. WHAT IS WATERLESS SKINCARE AND WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Most skincare is up to 85% water, which then needs preservatives, emulsifiers and stabilisers to hold it together. Ours contains none. Every Star Seed formula is 100% waterless and bioactive, so what reaches your skin is pure, concentrated botanicals and nothing it has to work around. For sensitive and reactive skin, that means fewer triggers and a stronger barrier over time.
2. WHICH PRODUCTS DO I NEED FOR HEALTHY, GLOWING SKIN?
Our Discovery Kit, Core Ritual and Ritual Collection (Star Glow Serum, Forest Cream and Moon Cream) are complete daily systems. 4. IS STAR SEED SUITABLE FOR ROSACEA, ECZEMA OR INFLAMED SKIN
Yes. Star Seed is formulated specifically for barrier-impaired skin, with no alcohol, no synthetic preservatives and nothing that disrupts the skin's lipid barrier. Many customers with rosacea, eczema and reactive skin find our waterless system calms and strengthens where harsher products have flared things up.
5. IN WHAT ORDER DO I APPLY MY PRODUCTS
Serum first, then creams, working lightest to richest: Star Glow Serum, then Forest Cream by day or Moon Cream at night. A little goes a long way, so use a small amount, warm it between your fingertips, and press it gently into the skin rather than rubbing. Allowing each layer to absorb fully is what gives you that calm, balanced finish.
6. WHY ARE YOUR PRODUCTS COLOURED, AND WILL THEY STAIN FABRIC?
The warm amber and golden tones in Star Glow Serum and Moon Cream come from naturally pigment-rich botanicals like berries, algae, roots and seeds. On first application you may notice a subtle warm tint on the skin, which settles as it absorbs. Using the recommended amount and allowing 10 to 15 minutes before dressing or going to bed lets it sink in fully. Until then, take care with white clothing, sheets and pillowcases.
7. HOW SOON WILL I NOTICE THE RESULTS?
You will likely notice a shift around 14 days, with real change at about three months. Nature works slowly, and that's what makes it last.
9. DO I STILL NEED SPF WITH STAR SEED?
Yes. Our formulas help protect and repair the skin, but they are not a sunscreen, and a few of our botanicals are best worn at night or under sun protection by day. We always recommend a natural mineral SPF every morning for full protection. A dedicated Star Seed SPF is in development; until then, a mineral formula layered over your morning routine is ideal.
11. DO I STILL NEED SPF WITH STAR SEED?
No. We don't make more products than necessary, and you don't need a dedicated eye cream. A small amount of Star Glow Serum pressed gently around the eye area works beautifully to begin with, and once your skin is settled, Moon Cream is ideal for that delicate zone overnight.
13. HOW DO I REFILL, OR RETURN MY JAR
There are two ways to refill. Subscribe and save 15% with automatic delivery so you never run out, or order a one-off refill any time using code "MYREFILL5" for £5 off. Each 20ml refill keeps your packaging in use and saves around 90 litres of water and 160g of CO₂. How it works: your refill arrives in a fresh jar. 8. IS IT NORMAL FOR MY SKIN TO CHANGE WHEN I FIRST START?
Our formulas are waterless and highly concentrated, so skin can take a week or two to settle into them. Some people notice a short adjustment as the skin adapts, and going slowly, introducing one product at a time, helps. If you ever experience genuine stinging, burning or a persistent rash, please stop and email us at hello@starseednatural.com so we can help, as that is not part of the normal adjustment.
10. WHAT INGREDIENTS DO YOU USE, AND WHY?
We use wild, organic botanicals chosen for how they work in the skin, not just how they read on a label. Ingredients like baobab, jojoba, black seed, turmeric and sea buckthorn are selected for their bioavailability and purity, then cold-processed at low temperature to protect their full activity. Each one earns its place by calming, repairing or protecting, even the most sensitive skin.
12. HOW LONG WILL A PRODUCT LAST?
Unopened, two years; once opened, twelve months. A 20ml jar lasts around one to two months with daily use, and a 50ml jar around three to five months. Because the formula is waterless and highly concentrated, a little goes a long way. Dry or mature skin may use a touch more, oily or balanced skin often less.
