MEET THE FOUNDERS
Star Seed was cofounded by Emilie & Ed with a clear mission: to regenerate the beauty industry from the ground up.
With professional backgrounds in skin health, skincare formulating, design, and regenerative value chains, they bring together a unique blend of creativity, science, and deep ecological awareness.
Their shared journey began as a response to the synthetic overload in modern skincare and diets, which led to their own health challenges and a desire to restore the relationship between humans and the natural world.
It started in 2020 by establishing a regenerative smallholder farming initiative in coastal Kenya, where they immersed themselves in the study of plant medicine and indigenous botanical wisdom. This laid the foundation for Star Seed: a pioneering skincare line rooted in bioactive, waterless, and nutrient-dense formulations.
Emilie, a Certified Holistic Facialist and designer, leads the brand’s creative and skincare vision, formulating each product with a deep understanding of sensitive skin, skin microbiome health, and botanical synergy. Ed, an experienced regenerative systems designer, oversees sourcing, sustainability, and ethical supply chains, ensuring every ingredient has both traceable origins and a regenerative impact.
Star Seed is more than skincare, it is a movement for ecological renewal. Every formula reflects their commitment to purity, potency, and planet-positive practices. By choosing Star Seed, you support a vision of beauty that is both skin-deep and soil-deep.
Skincare pure enough to eat. Join the regeneration.

EMILIE JASPERS
Cofounder | Certified Holistic Facialist | Natural Skincare Formulator
Emilie Jaspers is an Award-winning Natural Skincare Formulator with a background in holistic skin health, design, and architecture.
Born and raised in Denmark, her connection to the healing power of plants began early. Rooted in childhood foraging walks with her father, where she learned to identify edible and medicinal herbs native to the Scandinavian landscape.
After years working in London’s fast-paced architecture industry, Emilie experienced firsthand the toll that modern life can take on the nervous system, digestion, and skin. In response, she began a deep personal journey of healing, integrating nutritional therapy, plant-based skincare, and ritualistic self-care to overcome her own skin sensitivities, insomnia, and digestive imbalances.
Her lived experience became the foundation for Star Seed: a waterless, regenerative skincare brand dedicated to the health of both skin and soil. Emilie leads the formulation and treatment philosophy behind the brand, blending botanical science with ancient wisdom to create products that deliver exceptional results for sensitive, reactive, and mature skin.
A graduate of the Ray Cochrane Beauty School in Marylebon, ranked among the UK’s top beauty academies, Emilie is now a Holistic Facialist and Skin Health Educator. Her treatments and formulas are trusted by facialists globally, recently featured in Cosmopolitan and Country Life.
Through Star Seed, Emilie continues to share her expertise in holistic beauty and skin resilience, empowering others to reconnect with nature through meaningful, regenerative rituals.
ED PYCRAFT
Co-Founder | Regenerative Systems Designer | Ethical Value Chain Specialist
Ed Pycraft is a regenerative systems and ethical supply chain specialist with a background in agroforestry, smallholder partnerships, and political risk analysis.
He brings a combination of strategic thinking, lived experience, and ecological insight to Star Seed’s operation, ensuring every ingredient is ethically sourced, transparently traced, and regenerative by design.
Born in London and raised by a extremely health-conscious mother, Ed’s relationship with natural health began early. His lifelong passion for wild nature and extreme sports shaped his belief that true wellness begins with how we live, what we consume, and how we treat the earth.
After 4 years in Political Risk consulting, Ed felt the consequences of urban stress on both his skin and digestion. This led to a desire to reconnect to his passion, nature-based solutions, launching a smallholder agroforestry initiative in Kenya, where he and Emilie began planting the early seeds of what would become Star Seed.
At Star Seed, Ed leads sourcing and impact strategy, managing partnerships across East Africa and Europe to ensure the brand’s values are upheld at every step, from soil to skin. His work bridges the gap between regenerative agriculture, ethical trade, and high-performance skincare, creating a value chain that benefits people and planet alike.
Through Star Seed, Ed is realising a vision where skincare can be a catalyst for systemic healing, from the land beneath our feet to the rituals we practice every day.
