You might have guessed it. Black Friday isn’t our thing. Instead, we want to tell you about everything we are doing – and it’s stuff that really matters to your wellbeing & the planet.
Since September, we have been growing over 600 indigenous tree seedlings from 48 diverse species with medicinal, food & biodiversity benefits in Kilifi, Kenya.
The nurseries identified were community-based and help supplement local community livelihoods. In addition, to reach the desired biodiversity we also sourced seedlings with governmental institutions such as Kenya Forest Service (KFS) and Kenya Forestry Research Institute (KEFRI).
We plant 100% native tree species including species threatened with extinction. This approach supports tree diversity, the return of native fauna and the long-term sequestration of carbon.
With the help from Pwani University and the Kijabe Forest Trust, indigenous knowledge & wisdom around the benefits of regeneration are re-emerging and the value of a plant & ecosystem alive is being reimagined.
